Meeting new people is hard. Having a good conversation with someone is harder. Connecting with other gay, bi or trans men is a constant challenge in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area and often feels impossible.
If you’re looking for a safe and comfortable place to meet and talk with other gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning men, I am starting a bi-weekly support group that just might be what you’re looking for. Join with others in the area for a moderated meeting in an alcohol and drug free environment and not only make new friends, but create connections with others that will help you feel more a part of the community and better about yourself.
Topics at meetings are based on what members bring with them.
Among the things that can be discussed are:
- Coming Out : how, to whom and when might it be ok not to?
- Meeting others: how do you meet other gay/bi/trans/questioning men and have healthy relationships? How do you meet people in the age of internet sites?
- Dating: how do you determine what you’re looking for in a partner?
- Sex: what is the role of sex in your life? Are you happy with it? Should I be on PrEP?
- Healthy Physical and Mental Health: Are you taking good care of yourself?
The group will meet weekly on the first and third Thursday of the month from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at the Treehouse, 103 William Howard Taft Rd, Cincinnati, 45219. There is a nominal cost of $25 per session for participation in the group. FSA and HSA cards can be used for this group and receipts are provided for self-billing of insurance or other documentation.
Participants are asked to commit to a month at a time to ensure some consistency in the group- membership and the group is limited to a maximum of ten members. For more information.
